Maintenace Technician

Responsible for the repair of furniture, replaces parts in various electronic equipment, inspects the structural integrity of and electrical systems, and responds to other emergency maintenance requests as needed.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Machine Maintenance

• Perform preventive maintenance activities,
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems
• Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues
• Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies

Building Maintenance

• Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs
• Perform minor building, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and painting repairs as necessary
• Inspect heating and cooling systems
• Repair damage to warehouse floor
• Manage building and grounds

Equipment Installation

• Install appliances and equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Metal Fabrication

Repair molds

• Cutting, forming and welding of steel and aluminum
• Weld various parts of equipment such as spiders
• Construct safety fences for around machines

General

• Follow up and action safety items from monthly Safety Committee meetings
• Collaborates with other maintenance workers to determine the best course of action for required tasks
• Perform other duties a required

EDUCATION & TRAINING
Grade 12 minimum

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

• Experience using hand tools, air tools and electrical tools
• Familiar with a manufacturing setting
• Ensure all work activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with Company PPE standards

SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Demonstrates skills with power tools
• Possesses physical strength necessary to lift and move heavy equipment
• Familiar with electrical and wired systems
• Ability to read technical manuals and drawings
• Capable of adapting repair skills and mechanical knowledge to a wide range of different requests
• Respond quickly and calmly to emergency requests
• Ability to prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures
• Perform repetitive movements
• Stand, bend, lift for long periods of time
• Self motivated
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
